Texans to honor future Hall of Fame WR Andre Johnson this season

Former Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will be the first player inducted into the Ring of Honor, according to an announcement made by the team.

As he should. Johnson, a former first-round pick from back in 2003, spent 12 seasons playing with the Texans. During the course of his illustrious career he became the franchise’s all-time leading receiver, tallying 1,012 receptions for 13,597 yards and 64 touchdowns.

For his achievements, Johnson ranks 11th in the league in both catches and receiving yards. He also achieved All-Pro status twice and played in seven Pro Bowls.

After departing from the Texans, the future Hall of Fame receiver wound down his career playing one year each in Indianapolis and Tennessee. Johnson announced his retirement this past April.

The ceremony to honor Johnson on November 19 at a home should be a memorable one. Johnson is without a doubt, one of the most elite players the Texans franchise has ever produced.
