Joey Bosa still dealing with dislocated finger from last season

Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa is still getting over an injury he suffered a season ago. Kevin Patra of NFL.com cited a report from the NFL Network’s Alex Flanagan, saying that a dislocated finger injury from 2016 is still lingering with Bosa.

“Per Flanagan, Bosa opted not to have surgery this offseason due to the lengthy recovery period. He could undergo a procedure after this season after playing with the dislocation,” Patra wrote. “Bosa said the dislocated finger doesn’t hurt when taped, but can be painful if he forgets to tape it — as he did for the early portion of Sunday’s practice.”

Don’t expect this injury to have much of an impact on Bosa’s game.

Bosa fought through the injury in 2016 and recorded 10.5 sacks in 12 games for the Chargers. That was despite not only that injury, but also a hamstring injury that caused him to miss the first four weeks of the season and a contract holdout that lasted throughout most of training camp.

It will certainly be inconvenient, but this shouldn’t impact Bosa’s performance much in 2017.
