No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett ‘totally healthy’ after offseason foot injury

Myles Garrett Cleveland Browns practice

The Cleveland Browns are almost ready to strap on helmets and pads for training camp practices, and top pick Myles Garrett is ready to rumble.

The No. 1 overall pick had some frustrating health issues to deal with this offseason in the form of a nagging foot injury. But speaking to media Wednesday, head coach Hue Jackson said his top rookie is “totally healthy” at this time.

“We will definitely monitor him, but I think he’s totally healthy,” Jackson said, per Nate Ulrich of Ohio.com. “Maybe [he] hasn’t done all the conditioning that you would like to see right before training camp, but I think he’s up to speed and ready to go, and he’s looking forward to it.”

Obviously the Browns are counting on Garrett to live up to the hype that made him the top pick in the draft. Before his foot injury took him out of commission, he was wowing coaches with his ability to explode off the edge.

That Garrett is a physical freak who has the talent to dominate at the NFL level isn’t much of a question (watch here). However, it’s going to be fascinating to see if he can stay healthy long term so he lives up to his potential.
