Michigan DE Corey Malone-Hatcher retires from football due to Achilles injury

Corey Malone-Hatcher had to end his football career at Michigan due to an Achilles injury

Before he ever had a chance to hit the field for the Michigan Wolverines, four-star recruit Corey Malone-Hatcher has announced his retirement from football. Due to an Achilles injury suffered back in 2015 that still plagues the young man, Malone had to make this tough decision.

He announced his retirement on Twitter.

There is a truly an amazing development that must be mentioned as the silver lining in this dark cloud. Malone-Hatcher is still going to be attending classes at Michigan on the full-ride scholarship that was offered to him as a football player.

“I came to the University of Michigan to be turned into an excellent football player, excellent student, and most importantly a Michigan man. Sadly my football career is over. I will continue in my pursuit of the other two key points and let god take the wheel,” Malone-Hatcher wrote.

We wish Corey Malone-Hatcher nothing but the best as he overcomes this difficult circumstance.
