Marcus Peters: Chiefs will ‘beat the dog — out of’ Marshawn Lynch

Marcus Peters trade

Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters is not without sentiment as it relates to Marshawn Lynch playing with the Oakland Raiders. But that sentiment only goes so far.

Like Lynch, Peters is from Oakland. So, he’s happy that both Lynch and Oakland will get to enjoy the homecoming.

But when it comes time for the Chiefs and Raiders to play, all of that goodwill goes out the window.

“It’s going to feel good for him,” Peters said, via Jimmy Durkin of Bay Area News Group. “It’s going to be a good feeling, It’s going to be a good feeling for Oakland. But when we come here, we’re going to beat the dog (expletive) out of him.”

Oakland and Kansas City have one of the AFC’s fieriest rivalries. Even when one or both of the teams is bad, games between the two generally don’t need more fuel to the fire. When both teams are good (as was the case in 2016), their games are two of the more intense contests on the NFL calendar.

That didn’t figure to be any different in 2017 and certainly won’t be now after these comments.

The Chiefs will visit Oakland on October 19 for “Thursday Night Football,” while the Raiders will travel to Kansas City on December 10. We can’t wait.
