Malik Jackson predicts the Jaguars will win the Super Bowl

The Jacksonville Jaguars were one of those hyped teams last year that ultimately fell flat on their face en route to a last place finish in the AFC South. That hasn’t kept some from within the Jaguars’ organization from showing confidence in the team.

Just ask defensive end Malik Jackson, who legitimately predicted the team would win the Super Bowl this season.

“The Panthers did it. If the Panthers can do it after the season they had (going 7-8-1 in 2014) … But we’re going to win the Super Bowl, Jackson said per The Simms and Lefkoe Podcast (h/t NFL.com). If they can do it, why can’t we?”

Jackson referencing the Panthers is interesting in that his final game as a member of the Denver Broncos came against Carolina in Super Bowl 50. He would ultimately sign a hefty contract with Jacksonville months later.

Speaking of hefty, Jackson’s goals for Jacksonville are quite that. A team that boasts quarterback Blake Bortles for one, wouldn’t be everyone’s top pick for beating out the entire AFC to get to Super Bowl 52.

Though, setting high expectations and having a positive outlook is the right approach as training camp gets under way.
