We already knew Lonzo Ball has changed the game for the Los Angeles Lakers, who saw Summer League ticket prices skyrocket as fans flocked to watch him play. Now new information has come out, via NBA Communications, which shows just how insanely popular this young man has become in a very short amount of time.
ESPN’s Rachel Nichols shared the following information, which is downright incredible.
Think about all the crazy dunks, ankle-breakers, 3-pointers, etc the NBA puts on IG. Lonzo's INTRO more popular than all but five of those 😯 pic.twitter.com/tCHLtsvee4

Here’s the video that continues to be viewed at a staggering rate.
Even though he had a terrible debut, Ball rebounded in a big way to have the best summer-league performance we’ve ever seen. And even while he sat out of the championship game with a minor calf injury, Ball took home MVP honors for his tremendous overall game that saw him average 16.3 points, a summer league-leading 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.

Clearly, as team president Jeanie Buss recently said, the future looks bright for the Lakers. While many can’t stand the antics of his father, there can be no doubt this young man’s play will win over the masses as he brings Showtime back to Los Angeles.
