John Harbaugh: Ravens exploring signing Colin Kaepernick

The Baltimore Ravens have lost starting quarterback Joe Flacco for at least a few weeks with a back injury. As such, the team is exploring the possibility of signing Colin Kaepernick, head coach John Harbaugh said on Thursday.

Kaepernick has remained unsigned since opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers following the 2016 NFL season. Last year he showed he still has some game left, despite a down 2015 campaign that was riddled with injuries. Passing for 2,241 yards with 16 touchdowns and four interceptions, he made the most out of a difficult situation.

Baltimore has missed the playoffs the past three seasons. The Ravens have bolstered their talent on both sides of the ball, recently adding the likes of Danny Woodhead and Jeremy Maclin to spark an offense that has struggled in recent years.

At this time, Baltimore currently has Ryan Mallett and Dustin Vaughan as the backups to Flacco.
