Jeanie Buss: ‘Future looks bright’ for Lakers and Lonzo Ball

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is excited about the future, which is currently in the hands of first-round pick Lonzo Ball.

The former UCLA Bruins star had a rough Summer League opener but made up for it with a triple-double in his second career NBA game the next night. Even better, he wasn’t happy about his personal achievement for a very good reason.

Speaking about Ball and the Lakers, Buss expressed optimism when approached by TMZ Sports.

“I think he’s exciting to watch, and I think we have a lot of exciting players on the Lakers this year — a lot of good young talent. And we have the great Luke Walton as our coach, and Magic Johnson. The future looks bright,” she said.

Ball has certainly brought the excitement back to the Lakers. This is evident in the ticket prices for Summer League games, which actually doubled some ticket prices for UFC 213.

The Lakers might not be ready to compete with the best in the west right now. But they are certainly moving in the right direction under the guidance of Magic Johnson, who has shown he’s going to be very aggressive about bringing a winning team back to LA.
