Falcons won’t sell single-game tickets to fans

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan

According to a report by Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, no single game tickets will be sold at the new Atlanta Falcons Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Only personal seat licenses (PSLs) will be sold in 2017, and these range from $500 to $45,000 per seat, per the report.

On top of that, patrons will have to pay another $55 to $385 per ticket. Now, we know why the Falcons are offering such a budget-friendly menu. Fans can eat for super-cheap as a reward to help pay for the $1.5 billion state-of-the-art new stadium.

Despite the restriction, it is reported that 55,000 of the 61,000 available PSLs have sold. The Falcons are also confident that the last 6,000 PSLs will sell out in the upcoming weeks.

This obviously leaves several thousand Falcons fans who used to be able to buy single-game tickets out in the cold. The result could be a spike in business for local sports bars where patrons gather to watch the games together. Perhaps television sales will increase as well for those stuck at home this season watching the game from the couch.

The Falcons host their first regular season home game on September 17 for a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
