Draymond Green calls out Damian Lillard

The Portland Trail Blazers and star guard Damian Lillard are showing some confidence after being manhandled by the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs each of the past two years.

Talking about the possibility of acquiring All-Star Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks, Lillard pretty much put the Warriors on notice. He wished the Warriors “good luck” if the Blazers do indeed acquire Anthony, adding a bit more to his thought process.

“He can help us a lot; we can help him,” McCollum said, via The Oregonian. “He wants to play in the playoffs and be competitive. He’s a very talented player. I think if we get him — when we get him — I think (we’re) top three in the West easy.”

Portland won 41 games and was swept out of the playoffs by the Warriors in the first round. Adding Anthony to the mix might close the gap, but the Blazers still wouldn’t be one of the top-three teams out west.

That’s pretty much the way the always outspoken Draymond Green feels.

Green, coming off his second title in three years, has never been afraid to rock the boat in a public setting. Meanwhile, there’s a bit of a rivalry brewing between Lillard and his hometown Warriors. If the Blazers were to add Anthony, that would likely bring this rivalry to a whole new level.
