Bruce Arians livid after poor practice, makes team run sprints in Arizona heat

Bruce Arians and the Cardinals must strike gold in the draft.

The Arizona Cardinals practiced for the first time outdoors this summer and stunk up the joint. Things were so bad that Bruce Arians made the team run sprints following the dismal practice.

“Play like s–, I’ll treat you like s–,” Arians told reporters on Monday, per Kent Somers of azcentral sports.

According to the report, 2014 was the last time Arians punished his team in such a manner. And that was for fighting.

As for Arians having his team practice outside, he was trying to emulate the conditions of the team’s first two games, per Somers.

Here are some of the player’s reactions following Monday’s atrocious practice.

“I lost eight pounds,” tight end Troy Niklas said.

“I’ve died before,” Mathieu said. “I don’t think I can die again.”

Obviously the guys were run into the ground, which shows just how hot Arians was about their play.

It sounds like it is going to be an extremely long and sweltering summer if the Cardinals don’t start adapting to these practice conditions. Arians is one of the best in the business, and this wake up call appears to have been quite necessary.
