WATCH: Henrik Stenson holes out for eagle on 11th hole at US Open

Henrik Stenson

The opening round of the 2017 U.S. Open hasn’t gone great for Henrik Stenson. Through 10 holes, the 2016 British Open champion was at 4-over par. That changed on the 11th hole.

Stenson was 152 yards away from the hole on his second shot. Conveniently, he had a club earmarked for exactly that distance. Not only did Stenson hole his second shot for eagle, but he made it on the fly.

Stenson still has a long way to go before we can call him a contender. But even if he does nothing else of note, he’ll always have this lasting memory from Erin Hills.
