Tyrod Taylor would ‘love’ Bills to sign Jeremy Maclin

Jeremy Maclin

Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor is doing everything in his power to get Jeremy Maclin to join him ahead of the 2017 season. Maclin was shockingly cut by the Kansas City Chiefs and can sign wherever he wants as a veteran and isn’t subject to waiver claims.

If it’s up to Taylor, Maclin will be in Buffalo as soon as possible.

“Bills QB Tyrod Taylor says he would ‘love to have’ wide receiver Jeremy Maclin joining Buffalo and he plans on reaching out to Maclin as soon as he gets Maclin’s phone number,” wrote Mike Rodak of ESPN. “Taylor also plans to speak to Bills coaches this week about Maclin at organized team activities.”

While last season was a down year for Maclin, he still managed to haul in 44 passes for 536 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games. The previous season he caught 87 passes for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns.

Robert Woods was Buffalo’s leading receiver last year with 51 receptions for 613 yards and one touchdown. He’s now with the Los Angeles Rams, and while the Bills did draft Zay Jones in the second round, adding a guy like Maclin would significantly boost the Bills’ ability to move the ball through the air. Especially because the Bills cannot count on Sammy Watkins to stay healthy.

There will be plenty of interest around the league in Maclin’s services. He’s still just 29 years old and has been a highly productive receiver throughout his career. It’s going to be interesting to see where he lands, and how much he ends up hauling in on a new contract.
