Report: Timberwolves considering trading seventh pick for Jimmy Butler

We already know that the Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in acquiring All-Star Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls. There remains a lot to this possibility, especially considering Wolves’ head man Tom Thibodeau coached Butler in Chicago.

Now comes this report from ESPN’s Ian Begley suggesting that Minnesota is considering including the seventh pick in Thursday’s draft as part of a package to acquire Butler from the Bulls.

“Opposing executives believe Minnesota is considering using its No. 7 pick as part of a package to try to re-engage the Chicago Bulls on a trade for Jimmy Butler,” Begley reported.

It remains to be seen what else the Wolves might be offering up for Butler. Though, both Zach LaVine and Ricky Rubio could be seen as options here.

It’s also important to note that Butler has recently indicated that he would like to remain with the Bulls. Whether that happens is anyone’s guess.
