Report: Spurs ‘open to trading’ Danny Green

Danny Green

In his six years with the San Antonio Spurs, Danny Green has emerged into a key starter. But according to a report from Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News, the Spurs may be willing to unload Green.

It’s fair to assume that if San Antonio dealt Green, it would be to make room for Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul.

The possibility of Paul going to the Spurs has been a hotly discussed rumor since the Spurs and Paul’s Los Angeles Clippers were eliminated from the playoffs.

On the court, it makes sense. It’s not hard to believe the reports that there is mutual interest between the two. Still, as Dan Feldman of Pro Basketball Talk detailed, making a deal work is easier said than done.

Even they trimmed their roster to just Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Danny Green and Tony Parker, the Spurs would still have to dump one of those players.”

Green is owed $10 million for the 2017-18 season, with a $10 million player option for 2018-19.
