Report: Andre Iguodala to meet with Spurs once free agency opens

What better way to subtract from the defending NBA champions than to sign one of their star players? According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, the San Antonio Spurs might be looking to do just that.

Haynes is reporting that the Spurs will meet with Warriors star reserve and 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala once free agency opens up at midnight on Saturday.

Previous reports had suggested that San Antonio was indeed interested in the 33-year-old veteran. And while the Warriors are confident in their ability to retain Iggy, there’s going to be a ton of interest in his services.

San Antonio has the flexibility under the cap to offer Iguodala a lucrative contract. Though, the Warriors themselves hold the ability to re-sign their star sixth man by going even further over the luxury tax.

This is surely a story to watch as free agency gets going on Saturday.
