Louis Riddick refutes report he’s been contacted by Chiefs for GM job

John Dorsey Louis Riddick

On Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported the Kansas City Chiefs had reached out to ESPN analyst Louis Riddick about their vacant general manager job.

On the surface, it seemed like a very logical move, as Riddick’s name surfaced a few times this offseason while teams looked to fill front office positions. A former NFL safety who became a scout and front office executive for the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins, he’s highly respected for his ability to evaluate talent.

However, not long after the report, Riddick refuted it.

The Chiefs are looking to replace John Dorsey, who came on board as Andy Reid’s hand-picked GM in 2013. On the same day Reid landed an extension, Dorsey was let go last week. While the move was framed as a mutual decision to part ways, another report indicates it was anything but.
