LaVar Ball claims next two sons will be one-and-done at UCLA

Big Baller Brand, LaVar Ball

With Lonzo Ball expected to go in the top five of this month’s draft, the UCLA Bruins have lost their best player from last season. But the iconic basketball program surely does have a bright future ahead of itself.

Brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball have also committed to the Bruins with LiAngelo set to take to the court this upcoming season and LaMelo a prize recruit for the 2019 campaign.

But if you ask LaVar, the always outspoken father of these three kids, the younger two will also be one-and-done in Southern California.

“All my boys are gonna be one-and-done. Gelo (LiAngelo) is going (to) be one-and-done whether he’s good or bad,” LaVar told ESPN. “I’m going to put him in the draft, hope they don’t take him. Bring him into the Lakers as a free agent, let him wind up with his brother and watch how good they play together.”

That’s definitely an interesting plan. For what it’s worth LiAngelo isn’t seen as the same type of prospect as either Lonzo or LaMelo, the latter of whom scored 92 points in a high school game and is a five-star recruit.

LaVar has been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently. He’s surely a helicopter father and has potentially impacted his older son’s draft stock heading into the annual event.
