Jeremy Maclin leaves Baltimore without a deal

Jeremy Maclin

Free agent Jeremy Maclin met with the Baltimore Ravens but left without striking a deal.

This news comes just one day after Maclin met with the Buffalo Bills. Reportedly, a salary conflict may have been one of the factors as to why Maclin walked away from Buffalo. It was also speculated in the report that Maclin may prefer playing for the Ravens, who are more of a contending team.

Now that he has met with the Ravens and nothing has come about, we must wonder if everything is boiling down to dollar signs.

Maclin is a former Philadelphia Eagles overall 19th pick from the 2009 draft. He put up one good season when he joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015, tallying 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns.

In 2016, his numbers took a severe drop when he finished with only 536 yards and two touchdowns on the books due to injury.

The Chiefs decided to release Maclin on June 2, which came as somewhat of a surprise. Despite the decline in production, Maclin is still the best free agent receiver in the league. Soon enough, he should land a deal that is suitable to both sides, wherever he lands.
