Houston Texans owner Bob McNair showed a couple of rookies some love Monday, sending Deshaun Watson and Carlos Watkins to the White House for Clemson’s title visit with President Donald Trump.

Watson, as most are likely aware, was Houston’s first-round pick this past April. The Texans traded up from No. 25 to No. 12 (with the Cleveland Browns) to acquire the former Clemson star quarterback who was magnificent in the National Championship Game against Alabama.
Though not as famous as his former Clemson teammate, Watkins (drafted in the fourth round) was an integral player for the Tigers this past year. He made 50 total tackles, 12.5 for a loss and 10.5 sacks this past season in Clemson as a senior.
It is quite the generous gesture for McNair to send his rookies to Washington, D.C. for this reunion with their old teammates and coaches. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience to celebrate their title win over ‘Bama with the president as well, an experience they’ll never forget, we’re sure.
