As the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors take on one another in the Western Conference Finals Tuesday, non-playoff teams will also be squaring off.
It will take place in the form of the 2017 NBA Draft lottery during the broadcast of a game that pits two teams these lottery squads want to mirror.
Among those hoping for the top pick, the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers are in desperate need of more young talent to turn the corner.
Interestingly enough, it’s the Boston Celtics (via Brooklyn) that have the best odds to nab the top pick Tuesday night. Los Angeles comes in third overall with the Sixers coming in fourth.
In some light-hearted humor on Twitter, the Sixers trolled an initial Lakers tweet with this gloroious GIF of Joel Embiid.

Maybe this is Philadelphia’s way of telling the Lakers to “trust the process.” Said process includes Los Angeles potentially losing its first-round pick should it fall outside of the top three. If it doesn’t land in the top three, that pick goes to the Sixers.
The bad news for Los Angeles is that its better than even odds the team will indeed lose that pick to Philadelphia.
