Riley Cooper attempting NFL comeback, attending Bucs’ rookie minicamp

Riley Cooper

Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper is trying to make a comeback. He’ll be working out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during their rookie minicamp, Adam Caplan of ESPN reported Friday.

Caplan notes this is Cooper’s first workout for an NFL team since February of 2016.

Best known for his racist, expletive-laced rant at a Kenny Chesney concert in 2013, Cooper was a marginally productive receiver for Philadelphia during his six years with the franchise. In that time, he caught 169 passes for 2,418 yards and 18 touchdowns.

By far, Cooper’s best season ironically came in 2013 when he tallied 835 yards and eight touchdowns.
