Richard Jefferson claims LeBron James was sick in Game 3

LeBron James

It was a shock for most of us who have watched LeBron James throughout his Hall of Fame worthy career. The reigning NBA Finals MVP put up just 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting en route to the Cleveland Cavaliers losing Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday.

No one really knew what was going on there. James entered Sunday’s game averaging well over 30 points per game while shooting at a 56 percent clip in the playoffs. It enabled Boston to hand the Cavaliers their first loss of the playoffs and get back in the series after losing the first two at home.

Following Cleveland’s Game 4 win over Boston on Tuesday, Richard Jefferson had an interesting theory as to why James struggled so much in the previous game.

He was sick.

This could make sense, especially considering James responded by putting up 34 points in Cleveland’s 112-99 win over Boston on Tuesday.

Either way we spin it, Sunday’s performance was the worst of James’ playoff career. Though, his team is now one win away from earning its third consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. Should that happen, no one will remember what happened this past Sunday.
