Patriots TE Rob Gronkowki is a full go at OTAs

As if the defending champion New England Patriots needed any more good news, it appears that star tight end Rob Gronkowski is 100 percent recovered from back surgery that cost him all but eight games last season.

According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, Gronkowski has been a full go during OTAs for the Patriots this week.

It isn’t necessarily a huge surprise. But with Gronkowski, we never really know how he is feeling physically. Despite being a dominating performer when he’s on the field, Gronk has missed 24 games over the past five seasons. He has not played a full 16-game slate since 2011.

After adding the likes of Brandin Cooks, Dwayne Allen and Mike Gillislee to their skill-position group in the offseason, the Patriots appear to be absolutely stacked on offense. With Tom Brady still playing like he’s in his prime and Gronkowski apparently 100 percent healthy, this looks like an unstoppable unit heading into the summer.

Last season saw Gronkowski average an absurd 21.6 yards per reception despite being hobbled by various injuries prior to going down for the season to the aforementioned back injury. He remains the most-dominating pass-catching tight end in the game.
