Nationals’ Bryce Harper to honor fallen troops during Memorial Day weekend

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper will honor the troops during Memorial Day weekend.

There promises to be a lot of tributes to fallen U.S. Military personnel during the three-day Memorial Day weekend. That will be more apparent on the baseball diamond than anywhere else in the sports world.

In making sure to pay his respects to those who fought and died for his ability to take advantage of the American dream, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper will be wearing camouflage cleats with the words “honor the fallen” inscribed on them.

They are pretty awesome.

Playing for a team in the nation’s capital and suiting up just miles from Arlington National Cemetery, we’re glad Harper has made sure to honor those who sacrificed everything for this great nation.

Harper and the Nationals take on the San Diego Padres at home over the next two days. We can surely expect tributes to come rolling in from the team before it departs for San Francisco to take on the Giants starting on Memorial Day itself.
