Eric Decker promises to be ‘full go’ for Jets training camp

Eric Decker

The New York Jets had a laundry list of problems in 2016, including the loss of wide receiver Eric Decker, who played in only three games.

Decker has since underwent a hip and shoulder surgery and has been able to fully participate in the team’s organized activities.

The 30 year-old wideout gave a sunshiny forecast when discussing his recovery timeline.

“My health is good. I’m back and I’m doing everything right now,” Decker said via Bob Glauber of Newsday. “There are no [structural] issues. I’m just getting my strength back. But as far as everything else, I’m a full go.”

He responded with this when asked directly about his readiness for training camp.

“Yes. Easily.”

Decker’s 2015 season with the Jets saw him tally 80 catches for 1,027 yards and 12 touchdowns. All he managed before his injuries last year was 194 yards and two touchdowns.

The veteran is a solid and reliable pass-catcher when he is healthy. Exactly who he will be catching ball from in 2017 is a bit up in the air, but it will likely be veteran signal caller Josh McCown as things currently stand.

This is all provided that the Jets do not decide to move on from Decker, as previously reported.
