The New York Giants might have drafted Eli Manning’s successor. They certainly hope that’s the case, anyway, after using a third-round pick to nab Cal product Davis Webb in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, it seems the two quarterbacks didn’t exactly get off to a great start.
Be warned, tongue is firmly planted in cheek here.
Eli Manning said he's spoken to his heir-apparent, Davis Webb, and told him "if he has any questions or needs anything, I was here for him."

Webb responded: "Yes sir." Manning said "I told him we were off to a bad start. Please do not refer to me as sir."

This made us chuckle.
Manning may be getting up there in age (36), but clearly he still holds that his father, Archie Manning, is the “sir” in the Manning family.
One of the coolest customers in the NFL, we have no doubt Manning is going to do everything in his power to give Webb as firm a foundation as possible for the inevitable day when he’s called into action. However, based on the fact that Manning has never missed a single start in his NFL career, we’re betting that day is still a ways off.
