Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has a podcast called “Dray Day.” Now, he’s looking to take the phrase even further.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported that Green’s representatives have filled paperwork to have the phrase “Dray Day” trademarked.
“The filing, which showed up on the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office website on Monday, seeks to use the phrase on shoes and apparel, on cellphone chargers and cases, backpacks, fitness equipment and podcasts,” Rovell noted.
This is a step towards Green accomplishing what he wants to achieve off of the court.
“Draymond continues to be focused on building his investment and asset strategy,” Green’s business partner and adviser Daniel Sillman said, per Rovell. “In addition to real estate, one of the areas of interest is media and opportunities around media.”
Certainly, athletes filing trademarks is nothing new. According to Rovell’s report, Floyd Mayweather, Tom Brady, and Marshawn Lynch are just a few examples of athletes who have multiple trademarks filed.
