Browns won’t commit to Josh Gordon if he’s reinstated

Josh Gordon

The Cleveland Browns continue to house wide receiver Josh Gordon despite the fact that he has not stepped foot on the field since 2014.

This might not continue to be the case based on this latest bit of news coming out of the Browns’ camp, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.

Gordon just had his most recent appeal for reinstatement denied by the NFL. His agent also parted ways with Gordon a couple of weeks ago.

The 26-year-old receiver has been suspended a total of four times since 2013 for various counts of violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He is able to reapply for reinstatement again this fall.

It stands to reason that the Browns are growing exhausted of waiting for Gordon’s status to sort itself out. Gordon achieved one All-Pro year in 2013 when he tallied 87 catches for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games.
