The Cleveland Browns quarterback situation remains an annual work in progress. Much to the surprise of many, the team traded for quarterback Brock Osweiler, who stunk up the joint as a member of the Houston Texans last year.
Nevertheless, Osweiler is still around after the Browns earlier entertained the idea of trading or waiving him. Now, competing for the starting job, Osweiler is apparently feeling ultra-confident, according to NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano.
Brock Osweiler asked why he thinks he's good enough to start:
"I think the proof is in the film for the past two years."— Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) May 24, 2017
Osweiler is competing with incumbent Cody Kessler and rookie DeShone Kizer. Perhaps Osweiler is seeing something on his films that the majority of the pubic is missing. If anything, Osweiler’s confident attitude is the right one to have.
The 6-foot-7 quarterback clashed badly with his former Texans’ head coach. He was benched towards the end of the season and completed just 59 percent of his passes for 2,957 yards, 15 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
We wish Cleveland good luck if the team actually decides Osweiler is the best man for the job in 2017.
