It’s something you never want to see on a baseball field. Two teammates making a play for the same ball, going full-steam ahead in opposite directions. Then, in an instant, the two collide with a force the human body should not have to endure.
That’s exactly what happened when Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve and outfielder Teoscar Hernandez collided after Cleveland Indians catcher Yan Gomes hit a fly ball Tuesday night in the eighth inning.

Unfortunately for the Astros, both players had to depart the game with Hernandez being carted off the field due to what looked like a serious leg injury.
