Report: Reuben Foster expected to fall out of first round

Reuben Foster is one of the NFL Draft prospects who needs to have a big pro day

Prior to the drama we saw unfold around him during the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this year, former Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster was expected to be a top-five pick. Some had even concluded he was the second-best player in the entire draft behind Texas A&M’s Myles Garrett.

With the draft quickly approaching and more information coming out regarding Foster’s medical and off-field issues, at least one report indicates that he will fall out of the first round completely.

For a player as talented as Foster, this is a major story. Surely a team at the top of Round 2 will come calling should this actually happen. Not only is Foster seen as a generational type of linebacker prospect on the field, his freakish athletic ability has drawn comparisons to some of the great linebackers of past eras.

In addition to the former Crimson Tide’s medicals not checking out and him failing a drug test a the combine, there’s league-wide concerns over his partying ways. In today’s NFL world, that could supersede any on-field talent he possesses. In fact, at least one team already reportedly has Foster off its draft board completely.

This will surely be something to watch as Round 1 of the draft kicks off on Thursday.
