Report: Jerry Jones informed NFL GMs they can contact Tony Romo for workout, visit or physical

Tony Romo, Jerry Jones

The next step in the evolution of the Tony Romo saga is upon us, ladies and gentlemen.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has officially opened his door for business, informing NFL general managers that they can contact Romo or his representatives to schedule a workout, visit or physical in hopes of potentially landing a trade offer, per Mike Garofolo of NFL Network.

Though a trade is still highly unlikely, this does give such an arrangement a bit more life.

Teams are likely just waiting out this act by Jones to hold Romo out as trade bait for the eventuality the quarterback will be released. Still, by allowing any team to personally test out Romo’s health, his arm and his desire to play with a face-to-face visit, Jones could land a deal.

Romo reportedly believes his options are the Houston Texans or retirement at this time. He’s got a couple of very lucrative television offers on the table if retirement is what he chooses in the end. We’ll be watching intently to see what happens next.
