Report: Colts sign Johnathan Hankins to three-year, $30 million deal

Johnathan Hankins

The Indianapolis Colts landed the best free agent lineman left on the market Thursday, signing Johnathan Hankins to a three-year deal.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, it’s worth up to $30 million with $14.5 million guaranteed.

This is a great get for Indy, which adds some serious beef in the middle of its defense.

Hankins, originally a second-round pick out of Ohio State by the New York Giants, developed into quite a nice run-stuffing defensive tackle during his four years in the Big Apple. During that time, he racked up 140 total tackles, 10 sacks and three forced fumbles.

He’ll be an immediate impact player for the Colts, who certainly needed the help inside.
