NFL WR goes on drunken rant about lost hat, gets arrested

Marquis Bundy

Arizona Cardinals receiver Marquis Bundy must have really, really loved his “praying hands” hat. Because he went to great extremes to express his displeasure after losing it at a nightclub in Scottsdale, Ariz. on Saturday morning.

“Bundy allegedly went off on club security — claiming someone had stolen the hat. Security took him to a back alley to cool off and that’s when cops arrived,” TMZ Sports reports. “According to the police report, obtained by TMZ Sports, Bundy turned his anger to police — berating officers who were trying to help out.”

TMZ also reports Bundy’s friends as begging him to stop his rant and just walk away. Obviously that didn’t happen. In fact, he reportedly escalated the situation, even going after the cops after his friends attempted to physically remove him from the scene.

Several warnings later, the 22-year-old was arrested “for disorderly conduct and failure to obey an officer.”

Not surprisingly, TMZ Sports reports cops as saying Bundy “was super drunk at the time.”

Bundy went undrafted out of New Mexico last spring but signed on with the Cardinals as a free agent. He appeared in all four of the team’s preseason games before being cut and subsequently landing on the team’s practice squad. He ended up making it onto the Cardinals’ active roster late in the season.
