The New York Jets can’t even get through a draft without bad news about one of its former top-round picks. As the annual event wrapped up in Philadelphia on Saturday evening, Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan announced that wide receiver Devin Smith has a torn ACL and will miss the entire 2017 season.

According to NFL Media, Smith’s injury occurred prior to the start of the team’s organized off-seasons activities.

Smith, a second-round pick of the Jets back in 2015, has played in just 14 games in his two seasons with the team due to multiple injuries. Last year saw the former Ohio State standout miss all but four games after returning from a torn ACL he suffered as a rookie.

This could potentially end Smith’s brief career with New York. The team added wide receivers ArDarius Stewart And Chad Hansen in this year’s draft.
