Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale’s epic rant after Monday’s Game 2 against the San Antonio Spurs has paid dividends. Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley sent his coach a ‘Thank you’ text at 4 AM Tuesday morning and said that the players would collectively reimburse Fizdale’s fine.

That fine came down Wednesday to the tune of $30,000 — money Fizdale likely considers to be well-spent.

His rant about the Grizzlies getting just 15 free throws — less than Kawhi Leonard on his own — despite outscoring San Antonio in the paint by 10, will help Memphis out in Game 3 as well.
