DeMarcus Cousins on Lonzo Ball: ‘Never heard of him,’ but ‘dad is a legend’

DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins isn’t shy about throwing shade, and he threw a truck full of it in the direction of Lonzo Ball when asked about the soon-to-be NBA rookie.

Cousins was asked by TMZ Sports about his thoughts about the best prospects coming out of March Madness. He listed off a few, including Malik Monk and any players coming out from Kentucky, his alma mater. But when he was asked about the former UCLA star guard he said he’s “never heard of him,” while adding, “His dad is a legend.”

One has to believe Ball will get more than his fair share of verbal jabs when he does start playing against NBA stars.

His dad, LaVar, recently said he’s better than Stephen Curry (right now, seriously) and that he’d only play for the Los Angeles Lakers. His dad has also said a whole bunch of other stuff that’s pure nonsense, and NBA executives are reportedly wary of his influence on Lonzo’s career.

It remains to be seen if any of that will impact where Ball lands in the 2017 NBA Draft.
