Bears giving Mark Sanchez Jay Cutler’s old uniform number

Jay Cutler

There has never been more proof that the Chicago Bears are 100-percent done with former quarterback Jay Cutler.

New Bears quarterback Mark Sanchez will sport Cutler’s old No. 6 on his jersey. Though, it’s worth pointing out this isn’t just a dig at Cutler. This was the number Sanchez wore when he was drafted fifth overall by the New York Jets in 2009 and during his brief tenure with the Denver Broncos in 2016.

The only other number he has worn is No. 3, which he was given when he played with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014 and Dallas Cowboys in 2016.

When it comes to Cutler, he has always sported No. 6 since he was originally drafted by the Broncos in 2006. By the way things are looking, Cutler won’t be wearing any number the longer the days tick by that he remains a free agent.

And speaking of not wearing a number, Cutler seems pretty content these days in not wearing anything at all.
