Northwestern not only reached its first NCAA Tournament in 2017, but then it won its first game against Vanderbilt.

When coach Chris Collins got to the locker room, the Wildcats was ready to celebrate.

Despite being a Division I school since the tournament’s inception in 1939, the Northwestern had never qualified. So, the Wildcats had been waiting 80 years for this celebration. They weren’t going to miss the chance.

Next up for Northwestern is a Saturday date against Gonzaga, the Western Region’s No. 1 seed.
