CFL’s Tiger Cats add Colin Kaepernick to exclusive negotiation list

NFL free agents, Colin Kaepernick

No NFL teams appear to be interested in free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick at this time. But he is drawing attention from the CFL by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

This news comes courtesy of 3 Down Nation’s Justin Dunk. According to the report, the Tiger-Cats have put Kaepernick on their exclusive negotiation list.

It will be interesting to see if anything at all transpires from this story. Kap is entering his seventh season in the NFL as a free agent after opting out of his final year with the San Francisco 49ers.

He was benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert in 2015, only to re-earn his starting role early back in 2016.

Kap made world news headlines last season with his National Anthem protest. A protest that is likely deterring any quarterback-needy NFL teams from reaching out (more on that here).

Kaepernick has since said he plans to stand for the National Anthem in 2017. But exactly which team he will be standing with remains a burning question.

If the 29 year-old quarterback wishes to continue a career in football, playing with the CFL Hamilton Tiger-Cats appears to be an option.
