Josh Gordon is like a cat given his many lives as an NFL player, and he could potentially still have one more. Still officially a member of the Cleveland Browns, the ultra-talented wide receiver applied for reinstatement at the beginning of March and is expected to hear back from the league by early May, per Dan Graziano of ESPN.

Gordon hasn’t played in an NFL game since December of 2014. He has been suspended multiple times by the NFL for failing drug tests and is currently suspended indefinitely. He met with Roger Goodell back in July of 2016 only to end up back in a rehabilitation center a couple months later after another potential violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.

Originally picked up by the Browns as a second-round supplemental draft pick in 2012 out of Baylor, Gordon is unarguably an elite receiver when healthy and focused. He caught 87 passes for a league-leading 1,646 yards in 2013, hauling in nine touchdowns that year as well.

The Browns have reportedly said they are done with Gordon, though he’s still a member of the organization in an official capacity. He’s set to earn just over $1 million on his current contract in 2017, if he is reinstated and is not released by Cleveland.
