Report: Bears expected to sign Mark Sanchez

Mark Sanchez

The Chicago Bears have reportedly found depth behind Mike Glennon on the depth chart. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Bears are expected to sign veteran Mark Sanchez.

Sanchez, 30, visited with the team earlier this week. It was the only visit he saw during a free-agent process that wasn’t too kind to the former first-round pick from USC.

The quarterback spent last season backing up Dak Prescott with the Dallas Cowboys. He attempted a total of 18 passes while throwing two interceptions in the process.

Despite leading the New York Jets to two AFC Championship games during his tenure, Sanchez bombed out on his original team. He was send packing following the 2013 season, ultimately spending the next two years with the Philadelphia Eagles as a part-time starter.

This is a pure depth move for the Bears.
