Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder apparently finds his team’s “Color Rush” uniform scheme to be offensive, so he’s submitted a proposal to opt out.

Washington has submitted a proposal to be voted on during the 2017 owners meeting next week that would allow teams to opt out of wearing these uniforms on Thursday Night Football.

Here’s a glimpse of the uniform the owner apparently despises so much this bylaw proposal had to be made.

Irony is funny sometimes. Many consider Washington’s very team name, the Redskins, to be slightly more offensive than the “Color Rush” uniforms he doesn’t like. Yet Snyder has staunchly refused to even begin to consider changing his team’s name.

Though the two ideas are not really connected at all, it would still be surprising if the owners did pass Snyder’s proposal. After all, this is a league initiative. And regardless of your opinion about the uniforms, they do stir up plenty of press for games that aren’t exactly breaking ratings records.
