NFL suspends Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins two games for DUI

Austin Seferian-Jenkins

New York Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has been suspended two games, stemming from a DUI, according to a team announcement.

Seferian-Jenkins did little for the Jets last year, catching 10 balls for 110 yards in seven games. However, the Jets have struggled massively to get production from the tight end position in recent years and Seferian-Jenkins is one of the more talented players they’ve had.

Sure, that’s not saying much when the competition is Jeff Cumberland and Charone Peake. But if Seferian-Jenkins ever plays a full season, he’s certainly capable of producing. This suspension, however, makes that impossible and makes it all the more likely that the Jets target a tight end in the upcoming draft.
