Michael Bennett throws some serious shade the Jaguars’ way

Michael Bennett

Never bashful to speak his mind, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett addressed a league rule change while completely dissing the Jacksonville Jaguars all in one shot.

Bennett had this to say about a new NFL rule banning players from leaping over opponents to block kicks.

“Most of the NFL games are decided by one point, unless you’re playing the Jaguars or something, then it’s decided by 50. The one point, blocking that, it makes a big difference, Bennett said per Nick Schwartz of Fox Sports.”

Wow. We can always count on Bennett to state the obvious in some cases. Sadly, the Jaguars were a victim of Bennett’s disdain of the NFL passing the “no leaping” rule. For the record, Jacksonville did average just 19.9 points per game in 2016.

Nonetheless, Bennett had just a bit more to say.

“I don’t see the point. I think a lot of coaches hate that there were people jumping over and blocking the field goals, because those points — when people block field goals, those are the turning points in a lot of games.”

The rule change is what it is. And as much as Bennett and others argue against it, leaping on conversion attempts appears to be a thing of the past.
