Former Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly’s next job may not be as a coach or coordinator.

The latest report says that Kelly may be joining the broadcast booth.

It’s certainly not surprising to see a former coach head to the booth. That’s commonplace in the NFL and will continue to be for as long as football games are televised. Announcing is a great way for former coaches to stay involved in the NFL, establish more contacts for possible future jobs and make some good money.

Still, Kelly is a little different.

NFL coaches have many jobs, including media responsibilities. That was never one that Kelly seemed to enjoy very much. If nothing else, his commentary would have to be a lot more interesting than his press conferences were.
