Charles Barkley: Warriors have ‘zero chance of winning the championship’ without Kevin Durant

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

After Moonlight won the Oscar, the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl, Donald Trump won the election and the Chicago Cubs won the World Series, one would think that nothing has “zero chance” of happening. Evidently not.

According to Charles Barkley, the Golden State Warriors have “zero chance of winning the championship” without Kevin Durant.

Barkley is known for outlandish statements, especially when it comes to the Warriors, so this should be taken with a grain of salt. Especially when Durant is likely to return by the start of the playoffs (more on that here).

If Durant’s injury were to worsen and he were to miss the playoffs, the Warriors would certainly be downgraded to underdog against the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, they would probably remain favorites to win the Western Conference.

Barkley’s schtick of bashing the Warriors is getting tiresome at this point. As fun as the entire Inside the NBA crew is, you have to admit you’re wrong after a certain point and Barkley reached that point with Golden State about a year ago. And, at least in the near future, let’s stop using the phrase “zero chance” or any derivative of it because we’ve been taught not to the hard way.
