Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers fell to the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game. The devastating loss put an end to a brilliant eight-game winning streak.
Rodgers spoke up after the loss when he said that the team during the offseason, needs to go “all-in every year to win” per Rob Demovsky of ESPN. Holding to that sentiment, Rodgers reiterated what he meant by “all-in” on Wednesday morning during an interview on ESPN’s “Wilde and Tausch.”
“I just think it means that we need to continue to add the right pieces to the mix when they’re available,” Rodgers replied when asked what “all in” meant, per Jason Wild of ESPN. “You know, we got hit with that early injury bug with Sam, our [No. 1] corner, and unfortunately he missed the season.”
During the interview, Rodgers said the team could benefit to similar signings like acquiring tight end Jared Cook in 2016.
Following the loss to the Falcons, Rodgers referred to the team as needing to reload versus rebuild.
Rodgers also touched on his age and he said he plans to play into his early 40’s. Rodgers turned 33 in December and has showed absolutely no signs of slowing down.
It will be interesting to see what offseason moves the Packers have in mind for 2017. Addressing running back Eddie Lacy’s impending free agent status is just one for starters, on the Packers’ “to-do” list. A list Rodgers would appear to be monitoring the situation closely in the upcoming weeks.
